The Orlando Circle of Friends Chorus is dedicated to bringing people together through music, inclusion and charitable work. Our volunteer chorus donates a portion of the proceeds from each concert to a local charity. In addition, OCOF performs at fundraisers for other organizations and participates in community and outreach events in and around Orlando.
Friends reaching out to inspire the community by touching hearts and minds through music and charitable deeds.
Using song and charitable deeds to change perceptions and attitude while fostering a diverse community.
In October of 2008, a group of caring and accepting individuals came together with a love of music and a gift of song that they wanted to share with others. Under the creative guidance and intuitive direction of Artistic Director, Mark Hardin, the Orlando Circle of Friends began a journey to embrace diversity and be inclusive to all. We saw a need in the community to change perceptions and reach out to others. That holiday season, we undertook a rigorous schedule of performances and charitable appearances including singing at various churches and serving breakfast at The Ronald McDonald House. Later we walked to raise funds for NAMI and breast cancer.
One thing that has remained constant is our outreach and charitable deeds. In the past we have had the honor of performing for former Governor Bob Graham at the Holocaust Museum's Dinner of Tribute. We have been the featured entertainment at the "Share the Care Ball" in support of and help for caregivers. We also had the very tremendous privilege of performing the National Anthem at one of our very own member's Citizenship Ceremony. We have performed at the GLBT Center for Veteran’s Day and honored two of our own members with an American flag that flew outside the center. We continue to support the Orlando Museum of Art's Council of 101 by donating to and singing at the Festival of Trees, an event at the Orlando Museum of Art which kicks off the holiday season.
As part of our mission, we also partner with various charities. Each season, a portion of our proceeds go to help them in achieving their objectives. Past partners include Orlando Youth Theatre, Joy MCC HIV Outreach program, A Place of Comfort, Hubbard House, Freedom Ride and many more.
